Michael Whitten's Obituary
Michael "Keith" Whitten, avid golfer, traveler and proud native Texan passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 after a heroic battle with heart disease. His wife, Betty Whitten, was by his side throughout his illness. Keith was born in Sonora, Texas on August 1, 1955 to Joe Chandler and Joyce Whitten. He was the youngest of three and is survived by his wife Betty, his brother Bryan Whitten of Phoenix, his sister Judy Scott and husband Jim Scott of Houston. He leaves behind his step-son Kevin Solsbery and wife Heather, Grandchildren Kaden, Morgan, Kohen, and Clayton Kelly and five nephews who loved and adored him. Keith grew up in Houston and attended Westbury High School where he made many life-long friends. He spent his career in the flooring industry where he usually turned clients into friends. On July 31, 1999 Keith married the love of his life. Together Keith and Betty created the life they had always dreamed of having. They adored their pets and treasured their time creating a home where friends and family felt loved and welcomed. He loved to play golf and enjoyed playing with his friends every Wednesday afternoon. He loved Houston Astros baseball and Houston Texans football. He also loved traveling with Betty to beautiful beach destinations where golf was usually on the itinerary. He enjoyed Texas history and was a proud member of The Old Three Hundred, the founding colony of the state of Texas. Friends and family are invited for a visitation at Klein Funeral home 9719 Wortham Blvd, Houston, Texas 77065 from 6 PM to 8 PM on Friday 03/22/2019 . Funeral services will be held at Epiphany Lutheran Church 14423 West Rd, Houston, Texas 77041 at 2 PM on Saturday 03/23/2019.
