Michael Wayne Turner, 74, of Tomball, Texas passed away and entered the Heavenly Kingdom on December 24, 2016. Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Thursday, December 29th at Klein Funeral Home-Champions. Funeral services will be at 10:30am on December 30th at John Wesley United Methodist church with Rev. Todd Cooper officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Wolfe City, Texas on Saturday, December 31st at 1 p.m.
Mike was the son of Vaden Harwell "V.H. Turner and Virginia Eloyise Thornton Turner. He was born February 3, 1942 in Wolfe City, Tx. He was a proud UT Longhorn alumni, graduating May 30, 1964 with a BA degree. He continued his education at the University of Houston, graduating December 22, 1970 with his Master of Business Administration degree.
Mike was a consummate business man, working in the insurance industry for more than 50 years, quickly rising to the level of partner with exceptional success. He was recognized and awarded many times over his career, including serving as the past president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Houston. He was also an active and devoted member of the Leaven Exchange.
Mike above all else, placed his family and friends at the center of his life. Mike was also an avid fisherman, with many trips to Alaska, Canada and even the Amazon river. His faith was the other cornerstone of his life, and he greatly enjoyed the fellowship and bible study of his church at John Wesley United Methodist.
Mike is survived by his wife, Fabiola (Fabbie) Turner of Houston, father, Vaden Harwell (V.H.) Turner of Rockwall; brother, Pat Turner (Dorene) of Rockwall; children Kim Smaistria (Jeff) of Alvin, Jason Turner (Dara) of Cibolo, Alex Granados (Uyen) of Houston, Fabiola Granados of Houston, Mario Granados of Colombia and Juan Granados (Yarinba) of Canada; grandchildren Carrie Spinks (Levi) of Minot, ND, Rachel Tidwell (Ethan) of Clovis,NM, Michaela Dillman (Chase) of Alvin, Ian Turner of Cibolo, Valentina Granados of Colombia, Maria Granados of Colombia, Yankario Granados of Canada and Kirlian Granados of Canada; great grandchildren, Chloe, Owen and Arabella Tidwell of Clovis, NM and Sofia Granados, expected in January 2017; his first wife Carolee Turner. Mike was preceded in death by his mother Virginia Eloyise Thornton Turner.
