Michael Paul Thibodeaux was peacefully called home to Jesus on October 28, 2023. He was born in Bunkie, LA November 6, 1955 to Betty Riche and Earl Thibodeaux. Michael married the love of his life Suzanne Kindred, December 6, 1975.

He spent his young adult life working various jobs learning new things. He soon found his passion as a skilled welder. Welding provided him lots of work at various sites around Houston. He never shied away from a tough job, and he loved working with his hands. He always said, "you either have a strong back or a strong mind", and he wanted his children to have a strong mind.

His greatest contribution to the world are his awesome children, Amy and Alan. Nothing in the world made him happier or more proud than them. After retiring from Local 211, he found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren, spoiling them, breaking the rules of the parents, and always making them feel known and special.

Michael fought hard to overcome many obstacles in his life. He would be the first to tell you many of those obstacles were his own not so good choices. Nevertheless, he was a passionate family man, an amazing provider, and a fearless protector. He didn't enjoy a crowd, but he would give the shirt off of his back to help a family member, friend, or stranger in need.

Hunting and fishing were his favorite pastimes. Michael knew the Galveston Bay systems like the back of his hand. Launching out of Thompson, cruising around fishing various pad sites on the way to Double Bayou. If the fish weren't biting in Trinity Bay,  he would make the run to East Bay. Hanna's was always a stop. He'd even stop on the side of the road and hop a fence to fish a pond. He absolutely loved going up to Gatesville where he fished, hunted, and chased hogs for many years. His love for dove hunting was out of this world, and he looked forward to it every year.

Michael is survived by his wife of 48 years, Suzanne Thibodeaux, daughter Amy Weyer and husband Jason Weyer, son Alan Thibodeaux and wife Lacey Thibodeaux. Grandchildren, Samantha, William, Vaughn, and Marcus Weyer, Grace and Ace Thibodeaux.

Michael's fierce love, honest truth, unmistakable voice, laugh, and helping hands will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He truly enjoyed the simple things in life. To honor him, please go fishing, hunting, or simply just sit on the porch and have a cold one. Life's short, nature matters, love is powerful.
