Michael Richard Leonard was born June 2, 1944 in Philadephia, PA and died peacefully at home on September 11, 2022 from complications of Vascular Dementia.

Mike grew up traveling the world with his parents and siblings, living in places like Hawaii and Japan on Naval Bases. He graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School in 1962 and spent 4 years in the National Guard. Mike married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Quinn Leonard on September 27, 1969. Mike and Pat moved to Texas in 1976 and raised three daughters.

Mike spent more than 40 years in the transportation industry. His true passion was history and reading, and there was not a topic that Mike didn't know at least something about! He was always described as a kind and gentle soul, with a dry wit that would come out of nowhere.

Mike is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pat, his three daughters, Regina, Christina and Elizabeth, and 7 grandchildren: Rachael, Connor, Owen, Evan, Hannah, Kyle and Daniel.

Mike's family is forever grateful for all of the kind words of support, and especially to Memorial Hermann Hospice for the excellent care provided.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to alz.org or Memorial Hermann Hospice in Houston. A celebration of life will be held in October.
