Michael Curtis Quinn, 74, of Houston, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, January 15, 2018.

He was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mike had two great passions, politics and the Green Bay Packers.  He studied political science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  He began his career in politics as an instructor at Purdue University, returning to Wisconsin to become a staff member for the Wisconsin state senate.  He left the state senate to join Exxon, where he held numerous public affairs and government relations roles in his 23 years with the company until his retirement.  Although his years with Exxon would relocate him to New York and, eventually Houston, he never lost his love for the Packers, routinely returning for games at historic Lambeau field.

During retirement, his love for politics brought him back to Exxon as a consultant in support of a major pipeline project in Alaska.  He also found time to substitute teach at his children's former high school, when not working in the garden or spending time with his grandchildren.  Even at Autumn Leaves he couldn't stay retired, acting as Resident VP of Public Relations and Security Director.

Mike was always very outgoing and loved chatting with everyone.  He loved to sing, even singing his favorite songs in German, which he learned as a kid growing up in Milwaukee.  He was a great husband and father, balancing his straightforward personality with a fun and loving way.  He never missed a child's sporting event or activity, always encouraging and focusing on the positives no matter what the outcome.

He was preceded in death by his parents Michael Curtis Quinn and Harrietjoy (Beil) Quinn.   He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary (Graczyk) Quinn, and his children; Kathleen Quinn Anderson and husband Jeremy of Spring, Texas and Michael Curtis Quinn, III and wife Laura of Kingwood, Texas. He is also survived by five grandchildren, William and Brayden Anderson, Connor, Elizabeth, and Ryan Quinn.
