Michael Louis Kallam was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on August 13, 1951, to Louis Reeder and Bonnie Lee Kallam (Raulston). He passed away on June 21, 2017, at his home in Cypress, Texas. Michael earned a Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University and spent much of his life working with special education students, preservice teachers, and graduate students. He taught in the K-12 schools and was a professor at several universities across the country. He retired in 2014 and moved to Cypress, Texas, to be closer to and spend more time with family. Michael loved reading and collecting books and had a passion for genealogy, spending much of his spare time working on it. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Michael is survived by his wife Linda Kallam (Budd); daughters Terran Ruchhoeft and husband Richard, and Breanna Cantrell and husband Joshua; sister Vikki Kallam; brother David Kallam; sister-in-law Sherry Copeland and husband Phil; brother-in-law David Budd and wife Mary; grandsons, Mason and Parker Ruchhoeft; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Autism Speaks. Graveside services will be held at 10AM, Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Big Cabin Cemetery in Big Cabin, Oklahoma.
