Michael Joseph Hubenak, Born July, 28th 1985 in Wharton, TX to Joey & Kimberly Hubenak. Michael was raised in the small town of Rock Island, TX surrounded by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and grandparents. He grew up riding the country back roads, fishing the canals, hanging with friends & family members, living the good life of a country boy. Michael made a decision after graduating from Rice High School in Altair Texas in 2003 that he wanted to explore what the world had to offer and joined The United Stated Marine Corps. While stationed in San Diego, California, Michael worked as an Aviation Electronics Technician, from there he served two tours in Iraq fighting for our freedom with the Grayhawk's Unit. Michael enjoyed his time in the service meeting new people and creating life long friends. He was proud to have served and was honored to be a veteran. He accumulated many awards while in the military: Meritorious Mast (several), Certificate of Commendation (individual award), Letter of Appreciation, Safety Pro of the Month Award, Maintenance Marine of the Month Award, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Iraqi Campaign Medal, and Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal. In August 2008, Michael was Honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps. He made the long journey back to Texas in his blue Chevrolet truck and a U-Haul trailer accompanied by a few family members. He resided in Houston, Texas where he fell in love with Mellissa just a week after arriving back. Michael & Mellissa were always side by side like M&M's (one with nuts one without). In December of 2008 Michael popped the question to Mellissa for her hand in marriage, of course she said yes. March of 2009, Michael & Mellissa announced they were pregnant and happier than ever. In May of 2009, they took one another's hand in marriage. Their first baby boy Aiden was born in December 2009. The three were inseparable. On his time off while working in construction he would take his little beloved family fishing every chance he had, fishing in the bayous, ponds and the Texas Coast. Michael applied to work at CenterPoint where he landed his forever career as a Primary Meter Tester and Installer. He gained an abundance of knowledge and friends working with his CenterPoint family. He truly enjoyed every minute working with these amazing men & women. Michael was transferred to work in Cypress Tx so he made the move to Tomball, Tx.  In January 2015 he and his wife were blessed with their second son, Kaehler. Soon after Kaehler was born Michael decided to take a transfer to Katy, Tx. During that time Mellissa started having numerous health problems and had been diagnosed with graves disease as well as cervical cancer. So Michael decided they would move to his hometown of  Rock Island, Tx, so that the extended family would be able to help and his mom and dad could watch their grandkids grow. November 2016, Life as they once knew when after a series of headaches, doctors discovered a tumor in his brain!  He immediately had the tumor removed and was back on this feet within two days! He went flounder fishing the weekend following thanksgiving, then that Monday he went to Memorial Hermann mischer neuroscience unit to learn the results of the biopsy, Glioblastoma a terminal form of brain cancer. So he started treatment Michael continued with chemo and radiation for a year. In October of 2017 their third son Brandtley was born despite his parent's numerous health issues and against the odds, their miracle baby was healthy and they could be happier! Michael & Mellissa's family was finally complete. They enjoyed their time together even with both Michael & Mellissa in and out of the hospital, they found time to spend with their loved one's fishing, four wheeling and making great memories. In March 2018, Michaels cancer had returned, he decided to undergo experimental treatment and the fight for his life intensified and he fought like hell and inspired everyone around him his positivity was contagious and if you didn't know his personal story you would have thought he was in great health. He was hiding his increasing pain due to the swelling cause by the new treatment. Everyone believed that he was winning his battle. He wanted to live life to the fullest surrounded by his family and friends, which he did, making special memories and spending lots of time with his wife and three sons. Michael spent days at the Magnolia property where he took the boys fishing in the creek, riding four-wheelers, having bonfires, and clearing land. Every weekend Michael made plans to do some fun activities with his family and friends. With the upcoming holiday On July 4th 2018, Michael had planned a family trip to Conroe Tx to watch the firework show on the lake but God had other plans for our sweet Michael. Michael fell into a coma that morning during a visit with his grandparents. He  passed on Friday July 6th 2018, He is survived by his wife Mellissa Renee Hubenak, 36, son Aiden Michael Hubenak, 8, son Kaehler Joseph Hubenak, 3, son Brandtley Smokey-Grey Hubenak, 8 months, mother Kimberly Hubenak, father Joseph Hubenak, brother Charles Hubenak, Multiple close relatives, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephew and friends. Forever in Our Hearts, You are now our Guardian Angel, You left us with a lot to be thankful for and you blessed us with the greatest gift 3 little carbon copies of you!!
