Obituary

Michael Lee George was born in Redding, California, on October 13, 1952, to Maxwell Napolean and Dovie Lee (Ward) George.

Michael lived in Redding, California, until joining the U.S. Army in November 1969.

While in the military, Michael served two tours of duty in Vietnam.  He was also stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado, Fort Lewis, Washington, Germany, and Fort Hood, Texas, with duty as an Infantry soldier and tactical signal noncommissioned officer. Additionally, he served as a Recruiter in the Cleveland, Ohio, area.

In June 1971, he married Mary Jane Muncrief, and they had two children.

On September 8, 1983, he married LeeAnna Marie Chagnon in Copperas Cove, Texas, and gained two additional children, whom he later adopted.  They moved to Harker Heights, Texas, in October 1983, and then to Killeen, Texas, in November 1998.  In June 2020, Mike and LeeAnna moved to Tomball, Texas.  He passed away at home in Tomball, Texas, with his wife, LeeAnna, and son, Chris, by his side.

Mike was a life member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.

Mike is survived by his wife, LeeAnna, of Tomball, Texas, three sons, Chris (Rachelle) George of Tomball, Texas, Robert (Vanessa) George of Salem, Oregon, and Ian (Jackie) George of Waco, Texas, and a daughter, Amber (John) Schweiger of Harker Heights, Texas, 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brother, Glenn (Carol) George of Maysville, Kentucky, several cousins, nieces, nephews, and treasured friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Maxwell, and his mother, Dovie.

Thank you to those who provided his medical care from his private physicians in Tomball, Texas, the physicians and nurses at HCA Houston - Tomball, the entire staff involved in his care from COMPASSUS Hospice and caregivers from Home Vitality Care and Cornerstone Care giving.
