Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Allen Fletcher, on Sunday January 8, 2023, at the age of 74.

Mike was born in Dallas to Margaret and Bill Fletcher.  The family landed in Midland where Mike and his  brother Randy grew up.  He excelled in baseball and received a scholarship to Cisco Jr. College and attended Texas Tech University.  After settling in Houston, Texas, he continued his lifelong passion for baseball.

Mike was king of the kitchen as well as the backyard BBQ.  He loved to create fabulous meals and share them with his many friends and family, engaging in laughter, good food, telling stories and sharing a host of fond memories.

Mike had an engaging and outgoing personality which is already dearly missed.  He made many lifelong dear, dear friends during his career in the travel industry.  Moving from the airline industry to travel starting with Fletcher Langford and Associates.  Growing to Funway Holidays Funjet Vacations, Mark traveled with his lifelong friends, Bud, RueAnn and Terry. He loved to travel and shared this passion with dedication and excellence.  Mike was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.

He will be greatly missed by his loving family; wife Jan, father Bill Fletcher, brother Randy, beloved daughters, Emily and husband Chris Lewis, Amy and husband John Beller, and their mother, Janene Kaspar; grandchildren, Christopher Lewis, Cara and Husband Tyler Hyndman, Reid and Dean Beller, as well as many cousins, friends and colleagues.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Fletcher.  Mike was thrilled to become a father, grandfather and loved nothing more than to be surrounded by his grandchildren and his expected great grandchild.

Our family wishes to send a special thank you to each of you for your friendship with Mike.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at John Wesley United Methodist Church.
