Michael Donald Fisher, 68, of Cypress, Texas, passed away January 26, 2024. He was born June 12, 1955, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to the late Donald G. and Patricia A. (Smith) Fisher.

Mike was preceded in death his parents, Don and Pat Fisher and by his younger brother, Tim Fisher. He was also preceded in death by his partner in life and dear friend of many years, Diane Lawrence. We all know that Diane holds a special place in Heaven for putting up with Mike for all those years!

Mike is survived by his brother, David Fisher and his wife Vikki as well as his beloved nephew, Jonathan Fisher.

Mike grew up in Tomah, Wisconsin, the son of a State Trooper and School Teacher. As a young man, he enjoyed playing basketball and golf. Shortly after graduating high school, he decided to move out of the cold north Wisconsin winters and to Houston, Texas. However, he didn't give up all his ties to his home state and his love for the Green Bay Packers. Soon after he moved, he bought himself, as well as his father and brothers, one share in the Green Bay Packers Football Team for Christmas. Once a Packer fan, always a Packer fan. In Houston, Mike found not only a partner in Diane, but a new home at Toshiba International. Proceeding his death, Mike worked for Toshiba for almost forty years and loved not only his job, but the people he worked with.

Anyone that knew Mike, knew he was a bit of a character. He seldom traveled, other than to attend his nephew Jonathan's graduations from high school in College Station and from college in Nashville, TN. He did return to Wisconsin occasionally but never in the winter. He preferred the company of a few close friends, his dogs over the years and cold beer.

Following his wishes, there will not be a service, but well-wishers are encouraged to write a note of farewell and drink a cold beer in his honor. If there are those who would like to share a story about Mike, we would welcome you to leave them in the messages on this site.

Mike will be interred with his family in Stanley, Wisconsin.
