Michael "Mike" Edward Leach, 71, of Nederland, TX, passed from this life on March 29, 2024.

Mike was born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, but spent most of his teenage years in Pensacola, Florida. He attended Pensacola Junior College (PJC) for 2 years and then transferred to the University of Florida.

Mike graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida in 1974 and moved to Houston for a job at Exxon. He worked for many years in the Oil & Gas industry, starting as a Civil Engineer and becoming a Project Engineer later in his career.

Mike is survived by his children: Lindsay (Kyle) Chalmers, Taylor (Katie) Leach, and Landry Leach, grandchildren: Andrew Leach, Madeleine Leach, Hannah Leach, Penelope Chalmers, and Fiona Chalmers, siblings: Karen Stiles (Danny Weiner), James (Elaine) Leach, and multiple nieces and nephews. Mike is preceded in death by his father James Leach and mother Kathryn Leach.

Mike had a passion for fishing. He was always going after the "big one" that never came. In his younger years, he played tennis in school and for fun with friends. He got into baseball card collecting again in the last decade and enjoyed going to card shows and collecting cards of players he watched as a kid, as well as players from his favorite team, the Astros.

Mike was a member of different churches of Christ in the years since he was baptized (1978). He was an active member in these churches, leading classes, prayers, talks, and serving as a Songleader.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20th, at 2:00 pm at Klein Funeral Home in Spring, TX. Visitation begins at 1:00 pm.
