Obituary

Michael Joseph Dotson known to many as Mike or "Bubby" passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021. He leaves behind his wife Carrie, and his two daughters Madelyn "Maddie" Nicole Dotson and Brooklyn Marie Dotson which were his world. He is also survived by his parents, Mike and Nancy Boston and his 3 siblings, Lorrie Holman and her husband Jason, niece Allyson and nephew Tristan, John William Boston and wife Christy, Michael Boston Jr., nephews Zion and Brayden and niece Jazmine, amongst numerous other family members and close friends.

Mike was born November 12, 1978 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to his mom Nancy and her husband Mike Boston. His family moved to Conroe, TX when he was a young child. He graduated from Conroe High School and began his career at Discount Tire Co.

Mike and Carrie met in 2002 through a fellow coworker Joey Ybarra and married April 30, 2009, in Grand Cayman.  They were thrilled when their first daughter, Maddie, arrived in January 2010 and rounded off their family perfectly with the arrival of their second daughter, Brooklyn, in February 2012.

Mike was the type of friend everyone longs for, always quick to lend a helping hand or a listening ear without any hesitation. He never met a stranger and could hold a conversation with just about anyone. Mike definitely had a very large sense of humor. He loved telling corny jokes which Carrie would often roll her eyes at and tell him he was NOT funny. He was warm and kind with a smile that would light up a room and always was the life of the party.

His spare time consisted of family time on the lake with a fishing pole in hand or sporting an apron around his neck while BBQing with his family and friends tossing a few back on a Sunday. If you ever needed something fixed or repaired, you could call on Mike with the help of YouTube there was not much he couldn't fix himself.

He was always up for a good time and there was no shortage of joy in his life but above all, his family brought him the most joy. He was a devoted, loving husband and natural-born father who will be missed dearly.

At the young age of 16 being hired as a part time tire tech at Discount Tire TXH22 in Conroe, TX is where it all began. Mike quickly became a devoted, motivated and loyal employee and knew one day he would run his own store. Through the years, he moved up the ranks to Store Manager just as he always dreamt of.

He continued to prove to be the dedicated man he had been since his teens. His legacy will forever be as a successful and well-respected manager that accomplished the goals and dreams he set out to reach. This devotion did not start and stop during business hours. Mike could always be counted on to attend and contribute to company events and fundraisers supporting the BTHAF. He always made it a family affair when possible. There is no doubt that Discount Tire runs deep through the heart and soul of The Dotson Family and he will be sorely missed by those whose lives he touched over the years.
