Merna Weisbecker Metz, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother  peacefully left this world on July 16, 2023 and is in the presence of Jesus.

Merna was born January 21,1928 in Nan, Thailand to Rev. Homer and Helena Weisbeckerwhere her father was serving as a missionary.  Her first language was actually Thai, as she had a Thai nurse.  She lived a life rich with love and compassion, raising her children with unwavering dedication and strength.  Her family was the heart of her world; she was the beloved wife of Clyde T. Metz, mother of Randi, Andy, Dan, Don, Dave, Doug and Derek, the adored grandmother of Kristi, Carolyn, Tommy, Josh, Mike, Steve, Lauren, Dutch, Danica, Drae, Kevin and Ryan, and the treasured great-grandmother of Ella, Harrison, Maclean, Langdon, Rivers, Anna Page, Eddie, Greenlea, Claire, Jacob, Carly, Gracie, Eli, Emma, Violet, Riley, Jolene, Davey and Asher.

Merna loved being outdoors whether she was playing tennis, doing yard work or camping.  She enjoyed travel and in her 50's, took up painting at which she excelled.   Volunteering at the local hospital, which she did for thirty years, was another passion of hers. In her later years, she enjoyed doing puzzles and reading.  Her warm smile, tireless spirit and enduring wisdom will forever be cherished.

Merna was pre-deceased by her husband Clyde and sons Dan, Dave and Derek.

A service to celebrate Merna's remarkable life will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Klein Funeral Home, 14711 FM 1488, Magnolia, TX.  77354

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Hospital.
