She was preceded in death by her parents Tillman and Avie Williams.

Married August 31, 1958 to Joseph E Blowey who pre­ceded her in death in 2003.

She was raised in the Rio Grande Valley near Lyford, Texas. Melba and Joe moved to Houston in 1960 where they raised their family. She faithfully served the Primitive Baptist church. Melba thor­oughly enjoyed meeting new people and she loved visiting with family and friends. She was always ready to go to an Astros game with any of them to root for her team.
