Maxine Marie Howard, known lovingly as "Granny" of Keithville, LA passed away in Spring, Texas on October 15, 2024.  She was born in Cankton, LA on February 17, 1939.

Maxine retired from AT&T (formerly South Central Bell) as a Long Distance Operator after 35 years of service.  She was a member of St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church in Shreveport, LA.

Maxine loved being outside planting flowers and enjoying her plants.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Roy Howard; father, Merrick Burleigh; mother, Amy Burleigh; brothers, Charles Burleigh and wife Rose, Rodney Burleigh; sisters Delores Burleigh, and Della Thibodeaux.

Maxine is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline Strickland and husband Ronnie of Spring, TX; Gwendolyn Mathews and husband Steve of Conroe, TX; grandchildren, Danny Triplet and wife Rachel of Stonewall, LA, Crystal Brooks and husband Kelly of Joaquin, TX, Blake Mathews of Austin, TX, and Lauren Chahin and husband Jason of Spring, TX; great-grandchildren, Kalie Brooks, Caleb Brooks, Kason Brooks, Hunter Triplet, and Sawyer Chahin; brother, Calvin Burleigh and wife Jane of Beaumont, TX, Darrell Burleigh of Sunset, LA, and sister Gloria Menard and husband Elwood of Sunset, LA; brother-in-law, Johnny Thibodeaux of Lafayette, LA.

An Interment will be held at St. Charles Borromero Church located at 174 Church St., Grand Coteau, LA 70541.  Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m on  S aturday, October 26, 2024. Service will begin at 10:30 a.m.
