Obituary

Maximillian (Max) Xavier Finney, a loyal son, brother, and friend, was born on January 24, 2004 in Houston, Texas. In his short life, Max lived intensely, traveled the world, and touched the lives of many. Max was an avid athlete, playing lacrosse and football, and had entered  Strake Jesuit as a freshman. He also had a unique way of connecting with children and animals that impacted his dream of turning his passion into a career. Anyone who knew Max will remember him as a beacon of light who showed life, laughter, and love to the world in his own simple and powerful way. Max went to be with God on July 7th, 2018 at the age of 14 in the mountains near Cody, Wyoming (a place close to his heart) after a week in the mountains with his father. He will be deeply missed by his parents Troy and Julie, his 5 brothers and sisters (Luke, Sean, Sam, Kendra, and Clare), three sister-in-laws (Beth, Annie, and Kate), and his beloved nephew Blaise and niece Colbie along with his cherished cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends. To honor Max's love of learning, zest for life and love of those around him, the Max Finney Memorial Foundation (Maxfinneyfoundation.com) has been created to help make the educational dreams of future young men become a reality through scholarships to Strake Jesuit and other Catholic high schools.
