Obituary

Max Huff passed away on February 13, 2018 in Houston, Texas.
Max was born in Altus, Oklahoma on July 3, 1930, the eldest child of Clarence Huff and Alice Kleinsorge.  He grew up in Duke, Oklahoma and lived in Webb City, Missouri.  After graduation from Webb City High School, Max enlisted in the Navy. He was an Electronics Technician and flew as a crewman on P2V and TBM aircraft as a Radar and Radio Operator during the Korean conflict.
After the Navy, Max worked for American Airlines and then for LORAC, a subsidiary of Seismograph Service Corp. He was assigned to install LORAC navigation systems and provide support to the Air Force Eastern Test Range at Cape Canaveral and downrange at various sites in the Caribbean.  He also worked for OmniSTAR, Fugro, and Trimble Navigation all of which provide precise satellite positioning worldwide.
Max had many hobbies.  He restored and rebuilt player pianos and band organs, spending years to meticulously rebuild each large and complex piece.
Max obtained an amateur radio license and set up his amateur radio system that covered multiple bands and antennas. He had regular contact with fellow operators around the world.
Genealogy was a life-long hobby. He researched both sides of the family tree starting with basic information obtained from his great aunts and expanding by trips to the genealogical libraries.  Max published the Huff Newsletter in print and later on the Internet.
Max has three sons, Michael, Randolph and Gary, two daughters, Anna and Carmen, his brother William, his sister Sheryl, and nine grandchildren, Addison, Dylan, Miranda, Taylor, Drew, Michele, Polina, Ann and Omar.
