Maurice Eneas Amidei, lover of God, Appellate Court Justice, Captain of "The

Neverland", Mexican food, sports, "42", duck hunting, and the University of Texas,

passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Friday, November 3, 2017, at the

age of 84. His story began on June 6, 1933, at St Joseph Hospital, Fort Worth, Texas. He was born to Eva Dillingham Amidei and Eneas Maurice "Doc" Amidei. He worked night shifts

on the docks and summers as a machinist to put himself through undergrad. He

graduated from the University of Texas Law School, obtaining his LLM and JD, as well.

He practiced law from 1950 until 1995, becoming a Justice on the 14th Court of Appeals

in 1995, in a landslide win. He met his dream girl, Sara Ann Bryan, at the Tarrant County Courthouse. They were married six months later on September 18, 1959. Maurice and Sara reared 3 children. Maurice was a fantastic dancer, from Latin dances to the Fox Trot. He and Sara danced their way through 58 wonderful years of marriage.

Loved ones who have gone ahead of Maurice include his mother, Eva, his father,

Eneas, his beloved Aunt Iva, Uncle Walter, Uncle Reep (who led him to Christ), his

cousin, Lorraine Bechaver, and many more aunts, uncles and cousins.

Those who love him and will carry on his memory include his wife, Sara (nee Bryan), his

children, April Dancer (Stuart), Tony Amidei (Beth), and Angela Dunn (Jonathan); his

sister, Sylvia Naslund (Arvid), his neice, Patti (Kerry), his nephew, Chuck, and 9

grandchildren. A celebration of Maurice's life will be held at 2PM, on Friday, November 10, at Klein Funeral Home CyFair-Northwest, 9719 Wortham Blvd, Houston, TX 77065, with Pastor

Rick Jones officiating.
