Matthew "Matt" Aubrey Roberts was born on March 9, 1998. He leaves behind his father, Michael Roberts, mother, DeAn Roberts, sister, Quin Roberts, nephew, Jaxton Elliott, grandfather's Mike Roberts Sr. and Earl Latham, and many other family and friends who he loved dearly.

Matt was a graduate of Cypress Christian School where he attended from kindergarten through graduation in 2016. After graduation, he moved to attend Sam Houston State University, where he found a career living his dream as a hunting and fishing guide. Many of his friends have said that Matt was a loyal friend to all, a team player, treated others as though they mattered and would always take a stand for what was right. Matt was giving and showed generosity to others.

His best friend from high school, Nolan said it best… "Reliable and selfless are the first two words that come to mind. He never needed to be the center of attention or wanted recognition, he always wanted to help out and do what needed to be done. He was never afraid of the dirty work. If you needed him as a friend to come through, he always did. Never needed a thank you or expected praise in return. He didn't complain or talk back to anyone. It was always 'yes ma'am, no ma'am and didn't want to let anyone down. He took pride in what he did, but never felt need to show off. Knowing he gave his best was always good enough for him and it was one of many things I always admired about him."

Over the past 3 years, Matt lived life on the Double Drop Ranch doing what he loved day after day, hunting and fishing and taking others on those same outdoor adventures he was so passionate about. Matt never met a stranger and was loved and admired by so many.

Matt lived and worked with Marco, who said that "{he} was not only my friend, but my brother, a right hand man and a part of my everyday life. He always had my back no matter the circumstances. He put up with me every day with a smile on his face…Matt was strong minded and bold and truly loved the Lord…. I am going to miss every lunch and dinner I had with that man talking about plans and ideas and dreams…We have shared arguments, laughs, tears and tons of amazing memories. I love you Ranger Roberts."

He will forever be missed, but never forgotten. He had love for the Lord, his family and others. The impact that Matt had on others will live on forever.
