On Sunday, July 31, 2022, Matthew Powell, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at the age of 47.

Matthew is survived by wife Penny Powell of Spring, TX, their children: Jacob, Joseph and Jessica Powell; mother, Valerie Martin and stepfather Hal Martin; brother, Toby and Julie Powell; mother-n -law, Betty Diane Ashley; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who were considered family.

Matthew was a loving, faithful husband and father. Matthew devoted his life to his family and provided a path of achievement and excellence for all of his children.

Penny Powell was the love of his life! He was so in love and always kept his family close and tight.  Matt started dating Penny at the age of 15. 30 years filled with so much love and blessing. He loved the way she cared for him and the kids. He always did everything in his power through the years to make sure she could walk in her gift of serving.  Serving her family and many others.  He was an incredible provider and protector.

He was a such proud parent! He adored his children to say the least! He loved watching his children compete and excel in whatever they did.  He would love to brag about how independent they were and just knew that no matter what …they were positioned to succeed. He loved arm wrestling and playing around with the kids, late night talks, bantering, game nights, boating and so much more.  He was full of life and oozed love!  He would give the shirt off of his back even if he didn't have one.

Matthew was a valued leader in his area of work where he enjoyed sharing his knowledge, teaching others and improving their opportunities.

He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

A Celebration of Life  will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Champions Forest Baptist Church, 15555 Stuebner Airline Rd., Houston, TX 77069
