Matthew J. DiTeresa, 79, passed away suddenly on September 11th 2018 at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital in Houston, Texas at 8:30 pm. Matthew, born in Staten Island, New York, moved to Houston, Texas in 1969, with his wife Barbara, to pursue a career in the Oil and Gas Industry. A college football player, professional baseball player for the New York Yankees farm team, and an avid golfer, Matthew retained his passion for baseball and golf into his later years. He worked for MW Kellogg in Houston where he rose to be Vice President and Management of Worldwide Procurement until his retirement in 1993. Starting in 2004, he assumed the role of business manager at Tomball Adult Internal Medicine, P.A. until his sudden passing.
He met and married Barbara Venturini on June 21st. 1969 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Boonton, New Jersey. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara, Matthew DiTeresa (son), Michael DiTeresa (son), and Marisa DiTeresa Wuttke (daughter). Other than his wife and baseball, the apples of his eye were his four grandsons. Matthew and Megan DiTeresa (daughter in law) have two sons, Matthew (16) and Anthony (10). Marisa and Axel Wuttke (son in law) have two sons also, Max (7) and Luke (11 months).
Matthew was preceded to his perpetual reward by his father, Frank DiTeresa and Carmella DiTeresa of Poughkeepsie, New York.
