Obituary

Matthew Alexander Beltran, 17, of Klein, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024. Matthew entered the world as a beautiful baby boy on January 3rd, 2007, in Houston, Texas to Victor and Sonia Beltran as their fourth child completing their family.

Matthew attended Klein ISD for his entire life. In his elementary years he joined the Cub Scouts, where his passion for uniforms and formalities began. In Junior High, he picked up the viola, which he continued to play for six years. This is also where his love and interest of Asian culture and anime began. When he entered high school, he decided to join the Army JROTC program, which excelled his desire to join the U.S. Marines. Matthew enjoyed all aspects of teenage life such as spending time with his friends, getting his drivers license, and starting his first job. At the end of his sophomore year, he decided he wanted to speed up the process and graduate a year early and skip his junior year. He put in a great deal of hard work, taking extra classes for dual credits. He had decided to join the U.S. Marine Reserves right after graduation, and even signed his commitment. While in the reserves, he planned to attend UT Arlington in pursuit of a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering degree, and to complete Officer Candidate School. This was all in hopes of fulfilling his goal of enlisting in the Marines as an officer after graduation. Matthew had big dreams of flying jets and traveling the world, he had his life planned out. He was a respectful, intelligent, thoughtful, and witty young man. He was very driven and was always willing to help those around him achieve their goals however he could. He was an amazing, goal oriented young man, with a bright future.

Matthew is preceded in death by his grandmothers Francisca Garcia and Maria Beltran and is survived by his parents, Victor and Sonia Beltran; brother, Christopher Beltran; sister, Francisca Beltran Brother-In-Law Shawn Mays, sister Victoria Beltran, nephew Austin Mays, Grandfather Victor Beltran Sr. As well as many extended family members.
