Matthew Francis Adamec passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022, after a valiant six-month battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer. He was 44 years old.
Matt was born on January 2, 1978, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. At the age of 2 years, his family moved to Houston, TX. He attended Sam Houston State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Spanish.
Upon graduating, he began his federal law enforcement career in the United States Customs and Border Protection. After 9/11, Matt became a Federal Air Marshal under the supervision of the Transportation Security Administration of the United States Government. A job he held until his passing.
In September 2001, Matt married Erika R. Solis, his college sweetheart. Their lives were enriched with the birth of their two sons, Ryan born in 2004 and Aiden born in 2009.
Matt is survived by his loving wife, Erika R. Adamec and two sons, Ryan and Aiden Adamec, his mother Barbara Adamec, his father, Frank L. Adamec as well as his brother, Daniel Adamec. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Yolanda and Ray Solis, as well as brother-in-law Jorge Solis, his spouse Anne Marie Solis and niece Sophia Solis.
Matt was a wonderful husband, father, son, and brother. His family was his world. Matt was an avid New York Giants fan, much to the dismay of his fellow Texans. Matt's passing has left a void in our hearts that will be hard to fill. Through his inspiration, his legacy will live on through his family and friends.
