Mary Alice Fritsch Peters (85) passed away in Houston, Texas on December 14, 2024. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Mary was born in San Antonio, Texas on August 14, 1939, and grew up in Schulenburg, Texas along with her brothers Dan and Charles, and sister Doris.  She attended St Rose of Lima Catholic School and later Schulenburg High School, where she played trombone in the marching band.  After graduating, she moved to Houston where she shared an apartment with several of her Schulenburg classmates and began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.  In Houston she met the love of her life, Frank Peters, and they were married in 1961. After spending 2 years in Anchorage Alaska during Frank's service, they returned to Houston to raise their 3 children.

In the 1970s, Mary and Frank were founding members at St John Neumann Catholic Church and supported the church in numerous capacities throughout the years.  Mary was also a longtime Girl Scout leader, Little League mom, and band mom.  In addition to her volunteerism, Mary enjoyed a 27-year career in banking with Texas Commerce Bank, which later became Chase Bank.  During her banking career, she also held positions with the National Association of Bank Women.

In her retirement years, Mary and Frank enjoyed traveling all over the US with family and friends, as well as cruising to many memorable destinations around the world.  When they moved to the Tomball area, Mary became a dedicated member of St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church where she and Frank served as worship coordinators and members of the Senior Friends group for many years.

For the past 10 years, Mary resided at Brookdale - Solana Vintage Park.  The family would like to extend special thanks and appreciation to the Solana staff for the wonderful friendship, love and care they shared with Mary during her time there.  The family also extends special thanks to the staff of Three Oaks Hospice for their additional care and support over the past year.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Frank Peters; as well as her parents, Oscar and Edna Fritsch, brother Dan Fritsch, and other beloved in-laws.  She is survived by her children, Kim De Nicola and husband Mike; Steve Peters and wife Shelly; and Michael Peters; grandchildren, Jose De Nicola, Rosie De Nicola, Lauren Peters, Kelly Peters, Michael Peters, Jr., Brandon Peters and wife Rachel, and Meagan Dreher and husband Trevor; great-grandchildren, Braylon, Nolan, Wyatt, and Grayson; siblings, Doris Lewis, and Charles Fritsch and wife Pat; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Fritsch; and brother-in-law, John Peters.

A visitation will be held at Klein Funeral Home (16131 Champion Forest Dr., Spring, TX 77379) on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 5-8pm with a rosary at 4:30pm and vigil service at 7:00pm.  A funeral mass for Mary will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 3, 2025 at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church (7810 Cypresswood Dr, Spring, TX 77379) followed by a reception lunch at Clementine's Restaurant (6448 FM 1960 W, Houston, TX 77069).  A committal service will be held at a later date at Houston National Cemetery.
