After a hard-fought battle, Mary Faith Cheeseman Mercer, loving mother, sister, and friend lost her fight to a rare and aggressive breast cancer on October 11, 2019.

Mary was born on April 4, 1964 in New Castle, Indiana. She was the youngest of six children born to Richard Cheeseman Sr. and Barbara Cox Cheeseman. Mary spent her childhood following her dad around on the farm, trying to keep up with her older brother Chuck, and riding her beloved pony, Lucky, every chance she got.

After high school, Mary spent a year in Mexico volunteering at an orphanage before making her way to Texas, where she settled down in the town of Spring. This is where she made a home for herself and her four children: Timothy, the late Rickilee, Kimberly, and Melody Mercer. These children embody Mary with their strength, love, compassion, and zest for life.

Mary was an integral member of the family at Price Consulting Inc., where she worked for the past 25 years. Mary loved cooking, helping others, spending time outdoors with her dogs, but most importantly- she loved spending precious time with her family. Mary eventually returned to her country roots and passion by volunteering as a committee member at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and at a local horse stable where she gave trail rides and worked with the horses.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Richard Cheeseman Sr., brother Richard Cheeseman Jr., sister Nicolette Cheeseman Fulton, and daughter Rickilee Mercer.

She was blessed to be survived by her mother Barbara Cox Cheeseman, sister Victoria Cheeseman Hauptstueck and husband John, brother Charles Cheeseman, sister Angela Cheeseman Revalee and husband Rick, son Timothy Mercer and wife Siham, daughter Kimberly Mercer, daughter Melody Mercer, grandchildren Owen and Amelia Mercer, multiple nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Mary was an amazing woman who encouraged everyone she met to live life fully, and with a happy, optimistic, loving heart. She had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep, meaningful, and positive way. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew her but the love and inspiration she has given us will never be forgotten.
