Jeanne Brusick, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, mentor, and friend entered eternal rest on March 26, 2026 in her home in The Woodlands, Texas. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, but as a young child the family relocated to Montgomery, Alabama. She remained in the Montgomery area through her junior year in high school when the family moved to Pinellas Park, Florida. After graduation she returned to Montgomery where she entered the Nursing program at St. Margaret's Hospital. She graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1964.

After working in several areas in Alabama and Georgia she moved to St. Croix, Virgin Islands in 1970 where she was an industrial nurse for Martin Marietta. She remained on Saint Croix until 1988 when she moved to Tallahassee, Florida to accompany her youngest son Max, who was beginning his studies at Florida State University.

In Tallahassee she worked at Tallahassee Regional Hospital and Capital Rehabilitation Center in both pediatrics and geriatrics (working both ends of life, as she would say). In 1988 she met her soon to be husband Bill, who was finishing his Doctoral studies at Florida State University. In 1991 Bill moved to take a position at Grace Lutheran Church in Saint Petersburg and she soon followed. Bill and Jeanne returned briefly to Tallahassee where they were married on July 17, 1993 at Epiphany Lutheran Church

In the St. Pete area, over the next 15 years, Jeanne continued working as an RN in several hospitals, doctor's offices, and as a nanny to several families. In July 2007 Jeanne retired from the nursing professional after over 40 years of dedicated service. She and Bill then moved to Texas where Bill began his work at Trinity Klein Lutheran Church in Klein, Texas.

For several years Jeanne was heavily involved as a Mentor Mom in MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and traveled three times with the Kenya Mission trip. In her retirement she concentrated on producing numerous works of art in a variety of mediums which she most often donated or gave as gifts to friends. She was a member of both the Tomball and Woodlands Art Leagues where she displayed her work.

Jeanne was also a writer and a journalist, producing over 120 journals and publishing short stories in The Caribbean Writer. She sang in the choir and was amazingly supportive of Bill's music and career. She loved all nature, finding the absolute beauty in things that many of us overlook or take for granted. She had an artist's eye, a keen mind, a ravenous love for all things chocolate, a youthful spirit, a witty, unpredictable nature, and was extremely well read.

If you ever met Jeanne, you would never forget her. She had a captivating smile and an amazing rapport with people; children especially gravitated toward her. Jeanne loved her Lord and Savior, claiming Jesus was her very first best friend. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, Bill, son Max Vinzant (Patricia) of Maggie Valley, North Carolina, sister Gail Wilborn (Bill) of Nicholasville, Kentucky, brother James Elmo of Montgomery, Alabama, granddaughter Marlena Vinzant of Saint Augustine, Florida, aunt Joy Vickery of Fort Deposit, Alabama, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Marjorie and Audis Liner, son Matthew Vinzant of Seattle, Washington, and sister Mary James Bickel of Lima, Ohio.

A celebration of life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring, 11am, on Saturday, May 2nd followed by a committal service at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
