Obituary

Mary Kymberly Leary, aged 61, died peacefully on February 10, 2018 at Tomball Regional Medical Center, after an extremely brief struggle with a rare type cancer called MMMT. Kym was born on August 11, 1956, in Dubuque, IA. The first-born child of Mary Kay Cotton and Donald Joseph Hingtgen Sr.

Kym enjoyed many interests including sewing, scrap-booking, bunco, and teaching, but nothing more than relishing and taking part in the lives of her five children and four grandchildren.  She was fully invested in each of our lives and took tremendous pride in sharing stories of our lives and accomplishments with those around her.  She was a true friend to many and thoroughly enjoyed the relationships she formed with those she had the pleasure of calling friends.

In 1989, Kym married the love of her life Michael Steven Leary, who adored her two children and selflessly raised them as his own before adding three more adorable little girls to the family.  Kym was a loving wife and full-time mother of five before Mike's death at the young age of 45.  Since that time, she has been working as the office manager for a private dental practice.

In addition to independently raising her five children and working at the dental office for the last 19 years, she was an active member of Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church where she immensely enjoyed volunteering as a religious education and faith formation teacher for 24 years.

Kym is survived by her sister, Kristi Smith; brother, Donald Joseph Hingtgen Jr. and wife Dana; brother Matthew Stanberry and wife India; son, Nickolas Marcelle and wife Ashley; daughter, Breianne Olivier and husband Matthew; daughter, Kayla Wright and husband Jacob; daughter, Chelsea Thomas and husband James; daughter, Camille Powell and husband William; grandchildren, Kaelan and Evelyn Marcelle; Ryder Olivier; and Emerson Wright; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends. Kym was proceeded in death by her husband, Michael Steven Leary; mother and stepfather, Mary Kay and Jack Stanberry; father, Donald Joseph Hingtgen ; and brother-in-law, Dane Smith.
