Mary Ann Jacobsen, 88, of Spring, passed away on November 12th, 2024. She was born October 23rd, 1936, in West Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, to the late George Varosky and Ann (Ilova) Varosky.

Mary Ann was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith. A longtime resident of the Spring, Woodlands, and Tomball area, she moved with her family to Houston in 1968 and raised her young family in the Northampton neighborhood in Spring. Her life was marked by a love for music, devotion to the Catholic faith, and a deep commitment to her family and community.

Mary Ann shared her musical gifts as a devoted member and organist at St. Anne Catholic Church in the 1970s and continued this ministry at St. Edward Catholic Church in Spring during the 1980s. For the past 19 years, she was a cherished member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. In addition to her church service, Mary Ann taught piano from her home, sharing her love of music with hundreds of children. She also played violin with the Houston North Symphony, bringing joy to countless listeners.

She is survived by her loving husband, John (Jack) M. Jacobsen; her sons, Michael (Mike) J. Jacobsen, John A. Jacobsen, and James (Jim) M. Jacobsen; her daughter, Ann Marie Winn; her brother, Edward (Ed) Varosky; her sister-in-law, Annie Varosky; her grandsons, Joshua Jacobsen, Andrew Winn, Sebastian Jacobsen, and Lucas Jacobsen; her granddaughters Alex Jacobsen, Kristen Jacobsen, Lauren Jacobsen, and Erin Winn; her daughters-in-laws, Gena Jacobsen, Annabelle Glover, and Suzanne Jett; her granddaughter-in-laws, Emily Winn and Nic Avellana; her great-granddaughter, Madeline Winn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers George Varosky and John Varosky and sister Agnes Varosky.

A Funeral Mass will be held on December 12, 2024, at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of the Angels Chapel – St. Anthony of Padua, 7801 Bay Branch Dr., The Woodlands, Texas 77382. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
