Mary Louise Holder was born October 20, 1927 in Batson, Texas and passed away September 19, 2019 in Waller, Texas. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Clarence "Coonie" Holder; Father, Orville Ray; Mother, Colastie Ray; Infant sister, Dorothy; Infant brother, Charles; Sisters, Marie Fregia and Margaret Creel; and Granddaughter, Tina Krug McEwin.
Louise is survived by daughters, Sheila Snyder and husband Gary, Dorothy Elaine Maywald and husband Michael, and Nelda Louise Krug; Son, Forrest "Buddy" Holder and wife Janet,; 11 Grandchildren, 20 Great-grandchildren, and five Great-great-grandchildren.
Louise grew up the daughter of an oil field worker moving in and out of Batson, Texas. She was quick to tell us that she lived on the Prairie, not Batson. Batson was considered TOWN and did not have much to do with Prairie kids. She met and married Clarence "Coonie" Holder on October 12, 1946. Coonie was also an oil field worker. They had four children within 3 ½ years! They spent their lives following the oil field work from Texas to Louisiana and back again. They finally settled in Tomball, Texas in 1960. Louise was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tomball for 57 years.
Louise was a hard worker. She worked as an aide at the old Tomball Hospital on Carroll St. While working nights, and raising four teenagers on her own, she enrolled in the first nursing school started by Dr. Norman Graham. She graduated in Jan of 1967. After working at the hospital she worked as an office nurse for a couple of different doctors before settling in the office of Dr. George Murillo. She had found her home where she stayed until retiring in 1992 to care for her aging mother. She considered George another one of her kids. In 2014 she sold her home in Tomball to move to Waller, Texas to live with her daughter Elaine and son in law Michael.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Mickey Maywald, Keith Thomas, Jerry Maywald, Matt Maywald, Jonathan Holder, Nicholas Holder and Anthony Holder.
