Mary Joyce (Lentz) Hayslip was born in the family home in Carmine, Texas, on September 12, 1938, and passed away on November 13, 2019.
She was baptized on November 20, 1938, at Martin Luther Lutheran Church, in Carmine, Texas, confirmed on April 6, 1952 at Bethel Lutheran Church, in Houston, Texas, and graduated from Reagan High School in 1956. She married Burton Hayslip on September 16, 1956, and the couple was blessed with 3 sons: Felix, Doyle and Robin Hayslip.
Mary was a wonderful homemaker. She loved to cook and bake, and was known for her homemade noodles and bread. Mary cooked and served meals on Wednesdays for confirmation classes and Lenten services.
She Proceeded in death by her mother, Emma (Meier) Lentz; her father, Felix Lentz; and her son, Felix Hayslip.
Mary is survived by her husband of 63 years, Burton Hayslip; her sons, Doyle Hayslip and wife Sharon, and Robin L. Hayslip and wife Cecilia J; grandchildren, Wade Hayslip, Casey Hayslip, and Emily Dean and husband Shawn; great-grandchildren, Felix Walker Hayslip, and Allura Lorraine Dean; sisters, Barbara Vahrenkamp and husband Calvin, and Violet Engram and husband Bruce; sister-in-law, Joy Webb and husband Bob; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Loewe Family Cemetery 14500 Lentz-Meier in Carmine, Texas 78932.
