Mary Ann Gilio Hausmann passed away February 17, 2020, in Kenner Louisiana, at the age of 87. She was a resident of the Houston area since 1977 and moved to Louisiana November 2019.
She was born in St. Louis, Missouri, September 11, 1932. She was the daughter of Dominic and Chezerina Gilio, younger sister to the late Antionette Gilio and Peter Gilio. In 1959, she married Donald Walter Hausmann. She had three children, Elizabeth, Deborah and Donald. She had 7 granddaughters, and 6 great grandchildren. Mary Ann was a parishioner of Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Mary Ann was a kind and giving person. She loved her family, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Since our family moved frequently, she strived to make every house we lived in a home. When her daughters were young, she would sew matching outfits for them to wear. When her son Don and his friends came home from swim practice, she would have homemade chocolate chip cookies for them to eat. She loved to cook and bake, and made sure there were no empty tummies in the house! She brought homemade baked items to the church when they were needed. As she aged, her memory began to fail her, but the love of her husband never faded. Many times, we would see her and our father holding hands. Her face would light up with the biggest smile when she saw pictures of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. We will always remember her smile.
