Mary Lou Fly departed this world Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the age of 85. Intrigued by the different cultures of the world and with a sense of serving her Country, Mary joined the United States Air Force and later the US Department of Defense, teaching the children and families who served our Country in facilities outside the United States. Wanting another challenge, Mary was a graduate of the University of Texas Law School and took her skills to Beaumont, Texas where she practiced family law. While practicing law, Mary found her true gift was in teaching and returned to her previous career. Mary enjoyed the travel and excitement in multiple locations in Europe and Asia during her 30 plus year career. Returning to Houston after retirement, Mary taught at Lone Star College and provided legal case summaries for Nexis Internet platform. Mary is survived by three sisters: Billie Jo Fly of Greenville, TX, Stella Liane Saunders and her husband Robert of Dripping Springs, TX, and Katherine Fly Walker of Houston, TX. Mary is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
