Mary Beth Deans Fly born in 1918 to Mortimer and Mary Pearl Deans in Humble, TX, departed this life on May 13, 2017 at the age of 98. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, William M. Fly and her four daughters Liane Fly Saunders of Dripping Springs, TX, and Mary Fly, Billie Fly, and Katherine Fly Walker of Houston, TX.  Mary Beth and Bill started their careers in Houston after World War II.  Their careers took them to New York City, St. Louis, and Chicago.  They returned to Houston in the early 1970's.  Mary Beth's career revolved around marketing and communications, holding positions in both New York City and Chicago while Bill was an oil and gas industry executive.  Enjoying 37 years of retirement together, Bill and Mary Beth traveled America in their RV and enjoyed watching their family grow to 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  A great conversationalist with a heart the size of Texas, Mary Beth was always interested in her family and their happiness.  In addition to her parents, Mary Beth was preceded in death by her two brothers, Francis and Jack Deans.  A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Masonic Cemetery in Gonzales, Texas.
