Mary Comiskey 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Chappell Hill, TX on Thursday May 16th, 2024.

Born March 5th, 1942, in Dublin, Ireland she was known mostly by her favored version of her name Marie (Pronounced Mar-ee in her native Ireland). She was the second of eight children born to William and Eileen Clifford and raised in difficult economic times. A resilient culture and a loving home contributed to many fond memories of her childhood despite those hard times.

Needs demanded she leave school at a young age and start working to help support her family. As the economy improved, so did her opportunities and within a few years she was hired by Bush Electronics to work on their assembly line. Being a hard worker, she caught the eye of an up-and-coming supervisor who saw more than her work potential.

Despite her initial resistance, the romance blossomed, and she was married on August 5th, 1963, to her former boss Michael Comiskey. With an eye for adventure, Michael convinced his new bride to leave her home and family to build a new life in a new country. They emigrated to the US, settling originally in Boston, MA and later in Baltimore MD. For the next nine years they had two children and were pregnant with a third when they decided to return to their native Ireland to raise their young family. A fourth child was later born to complete their family of six.

Despite the tragedy of losing their youngest son at the age of ten, Marie and Michael built a beautiful life together and were married for almost 60 years before his passing in January 2023. In 2002, they made the trek back to the US and settled in Tomball, TX to be close to their children and grandchildren. Marie was incredibly kind and generous to everyone she met and leaves a legacy of faith in God and love for her family and friends that will have a lasting impact on all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father William Clifford and mother Eileen Clifford (Nee Curly), her husband Michael Comiskey and her beloved son Derek Comiskey.

She is survived by her sons Michael Comiskey (Tammy) of Chappell Hill, TX, Liam Comiskey (Marce) of Spring, TX, and Jono Comiskey (Larisa) of Tomball, TX, as well as many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her Grandsons Eion, Eoin, Kieran, Declan, Conor and Brady.
