Mary Amador, 89 years, of Houston, Texas went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2024. She passed away peacefully in the comforts of her own home

Mary was born on January 2, 1935 to Elida and Juan Guerra in Goliad, Texas. Mary was raised by her stepfather, "Lito." Upon moving to Houston and becoming a city girl, Mary met the love of her life, Guadalupe in her teen years and they soon married. Mary and Lupe were inseparable and went on to have 5 children.

She is survived by her sons Ernest Amador, Guadalupe Jr. Amador, Robert Amador, and her daughters Yolanda Amador and Delia Stanley, and son-in-law, Cliff Stanley. Her grandchildren are Josh Amador, Aaron Amador, April Rodriguez, Guadalupe Amador III, Crystal Sosa, Jennifer Nuñez, and Scott Stanley. Her great-grandchildren are Cain Amador, Diego Amador, Abigail Amador, Alexandra Amador, Angelina Solana, Trey Rodriguez, Elyse Rodriguez, and Joanna Nuñez.

Mary followed in the footsteps of her mother, Elida. She was strong-willed, assertive, and a fierce protector of her family. Those qualities were demonstrated time and time again with her relationships with family and friends. She was also a Sales Manager at Sakowitz in the heart of Houston. It was a five story family-owned high end department store. Out of all the qualities she encompassed, the most prominent of them was her relationships with her children.

One of Mary's favorite pastimes was dressing up, and going dancing hand in hand with her husband, Lupe and their close family and friends. She was described by her peers as always joking, laughing, and truly devoted to her husband. She was fond of the Pekingese dog breed, having a furry companion named Duchess as a young girl, a male named Max later in life. Mary loved having her coffee in the morning and it was most enjoyed with the company of her husband for 70 years.
