Lawrence Marvin King was born on April 1, 1953, in Watson, Louisiana, and passed away peacefully on December 12, 2020, with his family by his side.

Marvin will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Linda Harrison King, his daughter Lisa and wife Carrie, his son Brian and wife Kendall; sister, Julie Breaux; and loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence, his mother, Rena, and brother, David.

Marvin received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at LSU, and you didn't have to know him well to know that he was one of LSU's biggest fans. He was also very proud of being a Cajun and being born and raised in Louisiana, which he always referred to as home. Marvin worked as a Database Administrator and was employed by the same company from graduation until retirement. He loved traveling with his wife and children and exploring everything historical that each town had to offer. Marvin never missed out on a guided tour or exploring the famous landmarks on any of his vacations. He also loved reading thriller novels from authors like James Patterson and John Grisham. He enjoyed going to the movies, listening to music, and indulging in the occasional dessert, especially anything with chocolate.

Marvin loved his family very much, he was proud of his children and their accomplishments, and he was intelligent and hardworking. He took great comfort in knowing that his wife, Linda was by his side every day after his accident and that she loved and cared for him more than anything. Marvin had a great sense of humor and was one of the most honest people you've ever met. He dearly missed his family that had passed before him and is now able to be with them in heaven.
