Martha Sue Pruitt was born to Allyn and Ruth Burnsides in Dayton, Ohio on March 16, 1937. She grew up in the Belmont neighborhood of Dayton. She spent many summers with her maternal relatives in Dickson, Tennessee. She took vocal lessons and piano lessons throughout her childhood, therefore music has always been a big part of her life. She graduated from Dayton Stivers High School in 1955. She married John A. Pruitt in 1956. While he was in the army, she worked as an executive secretary at NCR in Dayton. In 1961 she had her 1st child Jeffrey Allyn and her 2nd in 1965 Lisa Ann. She was active in church and Eastern Star throughout her life. She taught piano in her home in Bellbrook, Ohio for 46 years.
She served as church organist for many different churches. She lived the last few years of her life with Lisa in Houston.
She is survived by her son Jeffrey Pruitt and daughter-in-law Kristine, daughter Lisa Pruitt, grandchildren Lauren Wood, Riley Pruitt, Andrew Mihalik, Jacqueline Mihalik and Chloe Mihalik as well as other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5pm to 8pm Tuesday, January 3, 2017 and funeral services at 10am Wednesday, January 4, 2017 both at Klein Funeral Home Champion Forest. Burial will be at 1:30pm Wednesday at Klein Memorial Park on FM 2920 in Tomball.
