Marshall Howard Rainwater, 59, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 25, 1966, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Marshall lived a life marked by remarkable strength, creativity, and generosity.

He attended Louisiana Tech University, where he studied graphic design and was an active member of the ATO fraternity, Marshall built a successful career as a Production Editor at Argus Media, dedicating 25 years to his craft. He approached his work with precision and creativity, qualities that mirrored his passion for art. An accomplished painter and sketch artist, he found solace and expression through oil and charcoal, often mixing pottery into his artistic world.

Marshall's sense of style, quick wit, and big heart left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He conquered five different cancers over his lifetime, embodying a tenacity and courage that inspired those around him.

Marshall's adventurous spirit took him from the Berkshires in New England with rolling hills and serene mountain vistas to the warmth of Barbados, always returning with stories, and inspiration. A devoted partner for 25 wonderful years, he shared his life with Chris Burdsall, whose love and companionship sustained him through life's joys and trials.

He is survived by his sister, Carol Gorgal, brother in-law, Ralph, niece, Mary Gorgal, nephew, Charles (CJ) Gorgal, Goddaughter, Ava Acosta, and his partner, Chris Burdsall. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie and Byron Rainwater, and his brother, Charles Rainwater.
