Marshall Dell Dodson Bills passed away unexpectedly at the age of 28 on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at his home in Montgomery, Texas. He was a devoted son, partner, and father-figure, leaving behind many friends and family members who will miss his big smile and fun-loving personality. Marshall was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1994, in Houston, Texas. He grew up with his mother, Jackie Bills Washington, and his maternal grandparents, with whom he shared a close and loving relationship. After graduating from high school, his outgoing disposition and friendly nature led him to a successful career in sales. He landed a sales position at Moon Valley Nursery where he received many awards and accolades, becoming one of the top salespersons at his company.

In 2021, he met Danielle Copeland and the young couple shared his home in April Sound near Lake Conroe. Without hesitation, Marshall became a loving & caring father figure to Danielle's children, Madison, Zoey & Colton. Marshall was preceded in death by his grandparents Jimmie and Barbara Bills, with whom he is now walking the streets of gold in Heaven. He is survived by his mother Jackie Bills Washington, stepfather Jim Washington, stepbrothers Philip and Jack Washington, half-sister Haley Arellano, half-brother Mitch Walsh, and aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins. Marshall was competitive, even as a child. He took gymnastics (but usually spent more time in timeout than on the beam or on the mat), studied Taekwondo with his cousin Angel, and played Little League Baseball (where he excelled at picking flowers in the outfield). He was recognized by his team for getting the most walks, but the entire park heard his mom when he made his first contact with the ball and made it to first base.

His favorite subjects in school were art, math, and science. Marshall was very artistic. His chalk drawing of his first dog, Lulu, was titled "Buddy" and received an Excellence Award in the Student Art Exhibit at Reliant Park World Series of Dog Shows during his 6 ^th grade. When it came to math, he was quick to calculate the equations in his head. Although he didn't like to do homework (actually what kid does), his mom would challenge him to a race doing math problems at night just to get him to complete his assignments. He almost always won, but she could never figure how he came up with the answers so quickly since he never showed his work – something, by the way, that math teachers seem to really dislike.

Marshall participated in the Science Club at Spring High School and was on the school's Golf team where his coach noticed he had a natural talent for playing golf. He lettered his Freshman year and was so proud of his letterman's jacket.

In 2021, Marshall purchased his first home in April Sound where he enjoyed spending time with his friends playing poker, table tennis and pool. He and Danielle also enjoyed playing golf with friends at the country club golf course. Marshall was a member of Greenwood Village Baptist Church in Humble, TX, where he attended with his mother. He accepted Christ as his Savior while attending summer youth camp and was baptized on July 31, 2011. Last summer he sent Madison and Zoey to the same church camp so they could share the experiences he had as a child. Marshall had a big heart for everyone he met, and sometimes an even bigger heart for his pets. He loved his Easter rabbit and always seemed to bring home stray dogs and kittens. As a child, he would capture little frogs from the church flower beds, take them home and keep them in an aquarium in his bedroom. Marshall's most beloved 4-legged companion was Capt. Steve Rogers, (aka Capt. America). Captain was named after Marshall's favorite Marvel Avenger after being rescued from the inside lane of freeway by one of Marshall's friends. Marshall and Captain took to each other immediately, and you rarely saw one without the other until Captain crossed the Rainbow Bridge this past December. We never were sure who rescued who between the two of them. No doubt Captain was waiting with tail wagging alongside Marshall's grandparents to greet Marshall at the gates of Heaven.
