Marlon Alfonso Cordon Morales was born to Elda and Marco Antonio Cordon on Septemb er 2, 1975 in the city of Tiquisate Escuintla, Guatemala C.A. He lived with his parents and three brothers Robinson, Jonathan and Marco. His family lived on a large farm where the boys were given the responsibility of taking care of the animals and crops. Marlon and his three brothers were up each morning at 4:00 am to milk the cows and feed the chickens and turkeys. In the summer they grew and harvested papaya, bananas and sugarcan e. At a young age Marlon learned carpentry and auto mechanics from his dad. These skills were necessary to eventually open his own shop, One Stop AutoMotors in Houston, Texas.

Marlon graduated from Elim Christian High School. Marlon soon realized how important it was to have a good education to succeed in life. Marlon had a quick mind. He always was wanting to gain more knowledge. After receiving his High School Certificate he attended Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala where he earned his CPA. He later volunteered in the Guatemalan Army where he quickly learned to fly planes for  his native country.

In 1996 Marlon decided to seek the American dream and moved to The United States and settled in Houston, Texas. There he married the love of his life, Gabriela Alexandra Cordon. He and Gaby raised three boys; Anthony, Marlon Jr and Benjamin. They lived together for 14 years; 7 of those as husband and wife.

Marlon was a man of God. He had a true servant's heart. He felt called to be a Christian Chaplain. On November 9 of this year he graduated from Eagles International Christian University with a Bachelor of Theology Degree. He was planning to continue his studies to complete both his Master and PHO degrees. He was in the planning stages of serving the needy by cooking wholesome hot food and sharing The Gospel. He was so passionate for his love of Jesus that he wanted all to come to know His Lord. On December 5, 2019 Marlon posted on his Facebook page "What do I have to do to go to heaven?' He responded "God is not waiting for you to judge or condemn you. He wants to welcome you with love and mercy."

Marlon was multitalented; he became an accomplished chef. While working at the Olive Garden he quickly became their number one chef. Management was very soon impressed with him that they offered him an apprenticeship for two years to further his culinary skills in Italy.

He was an avid fisherman.  He liked to fish late at night into the early morning hours.  He said fishing was a way he could relax and forget about all the stresses in his life.  Marlon Jr has the same passion!

Marlon was a talented musician. He learned to play the piano, trumpet and saxophone by ear. All he had to do was listen to a song and then he could play it. He also loved to sing. Both he and Gaby sang in the Champion Forest Baptist Church choir. He looked forward to participating in their annual Christian Spectacular Production.

Marlon dedicated his all for  the  love for his family.  Marlon worked 15 to 18 hours a day to provide for all their needs. During the last year Marlon drove nightly from his shop in Houston to The Woodlands where he was living with his family. Marlon truly had a gift of bringing out the best in everyone he met. He was an exceptional human being.  He will be sorely missed.

Marlon's funeral arrangements have been completed. There will be a viewing from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at The Klein Funeral Home in Magnolia, Texas.

On Monday, December 16, 2019 there will be a church service at 1:00 pm at The Champions Forest Baptist Church .

Following the church service Marlon will be buried at The Klein Memorial Park in Magnolia.

A Celebration of His life will follow at The Champions Forest Baptist Church.
