Marlene Elaine Johnson of Houston, TX passed away December 26, 2020. She was born in Minneapolis, MN on May 2, 1938 to Merle and Elaine Johnson. Marlene graduated high school from Minneapolis Central in 1956, shortly after she married Lloyd Johnson on September 6, 1958. They were married for 62 years. Together they made their home in Eagan, MN where they were blessed with 3 children.
In 1967 she became a military wife when Lloyd enlisted in the U.S. Army. While in the military, Lloyd and Marlene where stationed at several locations including: Fort Lee, VA; Zweibrucken, Germany; Honolulu, HI and Houston, TX. During their time in Germany, she and Lloyd were able to travel extensively throughout Europe. Once retired they made their home in Houston, TX. They continued to travel but her favorite place to be was Hawaii.
She was an active member of Messiah Lutheran church in Houston, TX. One of the many things she enjoyed was going on trips with her friends from church. Marlene will be remembered for her quick wit, loving nature and devilish sense of humor. She will be missed by all those who loved her.
Marlene is survived by her children, Kevin (Lu), Tammy Fox, Craig (Diane), brother Michael, and sister Marcia (George). She had 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, parents Merle and Elaine, and sister Shelly.
