Obituary

Mark Binda Woodson, 82, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2019. He was born January 29, 1937 in Edgewood, Texas, the oldest child of Mark and Evelyn Woodson.

Mark is survived by his wife Diane, son Mark "Buz" Woodson, Jr (Lee Ann), sister Jalayre Gorden, daughters Terry (Don) Cameron and Jennifer (Patrick) Mosher, and eight loving grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, daughter Karmen Woodson, and son Philip Phillips. Mark was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.

Mark moved to West Texas as a child with his family and grew up around the oilfields.  Here he gained access to firearms and explosives, leaving behind many stories of teenage mischief.   After graduating from McCamey High School, he joined the US Navy. He attended basic training in San Diego and then served on the USS Gregory (DD-802).   After his service, he attended college and began working with electronics and avionics. Mark worked for the FAA and Parker Brothers before becoming co-owner of Northwest Communications.

In his spare time he enjoyed flying his plane and travelling.  He was also an avid gun collector and continued to "play" with explosives.

A Memorial Service will be held at Christ United Church of Cypress on Tuesday, September 3rd at 2:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to Christ United Church of Cypress.
