Mark A. Thorkelsen, (68), of Cypress, Texas, passed away on June 20, 2023.

Mark was born to Arnold and Joan Thorkelsen on February 14th, 1955 in Omaha, Nebraska. He relocated to Houston, Texas in 1975 and attended the University of Houston where he earned his degree in accounting. He loved music, the San Juan Mountains of Southwest Colorado, traveling and camping with his wife, his family & friends, and of course, his dogs.

Mark is survived by his stepson Chris Fulton, daughter-in-law Sarah, stepdaughter Marcia Parsley, his grandchildren Charlotte & Clara Fulton, Hayden Parsley and his great-grandson Noah Parsley. He is also survived by his brother Steve Thorkelsen and sister-in-law Margaret Thorkelsen, his sister Julie Parsley and brother-in-law Ron Parsley, along with his nieces Brooke Parker and Jennifer Zeinalpour and nephews Steven Thorkelsen and Ryan Parsley. Mark is preceded in death by his wife, Regina Thorkelsen, his Mother Joan Thorkelsen and Father Arnold Thorkelsen.

Aside from his love of music, the mountains and dogs, Mark was a loving soul who loved a good pun and trivia. He also loved preserving the history of his family through old photos, often posting to social media the precious snippets of time that were captured on film or slides. He spent his far too short retirement donating to various dog rescues and spending time with his family and friends.

Mark's family will host a funeral service on July 6th, 2023 at Klein Funeral Homes at 14711 FM 1488. Magnolia, Texas 77354 at 10 a.m.
