Mark Edward DiMatteo, 65, passed away unexpectedly on January 3, 2023 in Houston, Texas. His deep love of family and always ready wit and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Mark was the second of six children born to Lawrence and Patricia DiMatteo on June 17, 1957 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Mark lived briefly in Fargo, ND before moving to the place Mark always considered his hometown, Winona, Minnesota. Mark attended grade school and high school in Winona, graduating from Cotter High School in 1975. Mark followed the family to Flagstaff, Arizona, briefly attending Northern Arizona University before travelling the country with his guitar. Mark went on to develop his skill as a carpenter, while always continuing to grow as a talented musician. Mark was a devoted scripture scholar, having graduated from The Way College of Biblical Research in 1990, and he had an almost encyclopedic knowledge of many things. Mark spent his later working years with Renaissance Builders in Houston. Mark met his beautiful wife, Maureen, in Houston, marrying on January 18, 2009 and sharing almost 14 incredible years filled with love and laughter and travels to spend time with family.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, brother Don and sister Laurel. Mark is survived by his wife Maureen; his sons Steven, Jeremy and Andrew; bonus sons Loui and Bumi; sisters Mary (Tom), Jean (Frank) and brother Tom (Gina); his four grandchildren Alex, Leo, Jaqueline and Layla and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday January 14, 2023 at Klein Funeral Home, 9719 Wortham Blvd, Houston TX with visitation at 9 am and service at 10 am. A reception will immediately follow the service.
