Mark Henry Abel, of the Woodlands Texas, went to be with the Lord on February 6, 2023 surrounded by his mother, dad, sister and brother in-law.

Mark is survived by his parents, Henry and Connie Abel, sister Marci Shipman and husband Danny, nephew Carter, niece Lindsey, Aunt Charlene Godwin and husband James, Aunt Kathy Kinninger and husband Gary, cousins Joshua Kinninger and family, Zachary and Nathan Kinninger, Michal Coman and family, and David Godwin. Mark is also survived by many relatives. He leaves behind numerous friends who considered him family. Mark also leaves his beloved dog, Daisy, who he dearly loved.

Mark was born on October 28, 1980, to Connie and Henry Abel in Houston, Texas.  He graduated from Cypress Creek High school in 2000. He recently started a new job with Coca Cola South West Beverages.

Mark's friend said: "we've lost a bright light in our lives. In the years that I've known him, he has been the most joyful personality and always such a loyal friend.  I will miss that laugh and our deep conversations…I will miss our friend."

Mark was full of life; he loved riding his 4 wheeler in numerous locations, the muddier the better. One of his favorite times was the yearly Mudagraw that he attended with his friends.

He loved to fish; in fact, he was given the nick name of FISH by his friends at Resort Country in Lake Livingston.  He loved to fish with his dad. The two of them enjoyed fishing in Alaska, on Lake Livingston and during a family trip to the Tropic Lodge in Panama where Mark caught a beautiful sail fish that was proudly displayed on his living room wall.

His favorite meal was CRAWFISH; Mark could cook'em, and boy could he eat them.  He cooked a sack every Easter for the family!

Mark was a big Astros fan and could be found watching the game alongside his dog, Daisy, both sporting their Astros jerseys. In 2019, he attended the World Series game with his dad and loved every minute.

Mark was an explorer; during trips, he enjoyed searching around hotels, with his mom, to find the ice machine, swimming pool, etc. He enjoyed riding in the golf cart checking out the lake, alongside his mom and Daisy. Mark enjoyed plants and flowers and his home was filled with special treasures he collected over the years.

Mark planned "movie nights" with his family, complete with popcorn, M&Ms and of course cuddles from Daisy. Mark's favorite holiday was Christmas and he enjoyed decorating inside and out – the bigger the better.

His dream was to build a barndominium and live on the lake in Livingston.

Mark leaves behind a huge hole that will never be filled.  Mark was kindhearted, honest, a friend to all, always willing to lend a helping hand and took pride in taking care of his friends.  We will miss his laughter, his silly sense of humor and the way he loved life.

A Celebration of Life will be held - Saturday, February 18, 2023

10:30 am, Lakewood Methodist Church, 11330 Louetta Rd, Houston, TX 77070

Immediately followed by a luncheon reception at the church
