Marilyn Carol (Hertel) Overcast, 77, died peacefully at home on April 4, 2022 in Cypress, TX, after succumbing to her courageous battle with dementia.
Marilyn was born on September, 27, 1944 near the tranquil town of Schulenburg, TX, the only daughter of Ewald and Agnes Hertel. She held her parents in high regard and her deep love and admiration was reflected by the memories she cherished of the time they shared together on the family farm. She moved to Houston, TX in 1963 at the age of 18. Shortly thereafter, she began a career of 34 years at Chrysler Corporation before retiring to focus on her grandchildren. She was a loving wife and a devoted mother/grandmother who joyously took part in the childcare for all five of her grandchildren. She was a truly selfless individual who would do anything to help a family member or friend. Marilyn always had a smile on her face and never met a stranger. We were truly blessed to have been a part of Marilyn's journey in life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild, Jack Thomas Overcast. She is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Jack Overcast, three children Paul (Meredith) Overcast, Russell (Stacey) Overcast and Cindy Bryant, five grandchildren Dylan (29), Caleb (18), Matia (15), Riley (8) and Reagan (6).
A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday April 23rd, at Fountain Pointe at Mia Bella located at 22404 Mueschke Road, Tomball, TX 77377. Dinner and drinks will be provided.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made to the Dementia Society of America in Marilyn's honor.
