Marilyn Kay Moore – July 27, 1948 – October 12, 2018. Marilyn was the firstborn of Willie Shannon Baker and Dora Cathryn McCamish and was born at Byrne Memorial Hospital in Tulsa Oklahoma. Marilyn would live for a while on her grandfather's dairy farm in Owasso, Oklahoma until her parents moved to Houston, Texas in 1953. She had many experiences returning to the dairy farm each summer, shoveling cow manure and delivering eggs to the surrounding towns with her aunts, uncles and cousins. Her family eventually moved to the east side of Houston where she attended and was in the first graduating class of North Shore High School in 1966. She married Michael Moore, Sr. in 1969, had 3 children, eventually graduated with a bachelor's degree in Special Education from Sam Houston State University, and practiced as a special education teacher in several school districts. She also received her Master's in Library Information Services from Prairie View A&M and retired from Conroe ISD around 2013. In 2017 she became engaged to David Curtis Dilworth after she met him on the dance floor and couldn't stop her love for country and western and Cajun dancing. She and David shared their joy of country music, swing dancing, riding bikes, traveling, camping at the beach, and dressing in costume at the Texas Renaissance Festival. She loved spending time as "Meme" with her ten grandchildren and teaching them what she knew about cooking, quilting, beading, and crafting. To everyone she met and knew, she was kind and generous and will be remembered for her sweet smile and generous laugh.
