Obituary

Marilyn Emma Meise Turner
1933 - 2026

Marilyn Emma Meise Turner, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 9th, 2026
at the age of 92. She was born on June 17th, 1933 in Hamilton, Missouri to Lydia and Henry
Meise, the second of three children. In 1952 she married Ernest "Pete" Turner, her beloved life
partner for more than 66 years, and together they built a family through the dedication and love
she shared so freely.

Marilyn lived a faithful life with grace, generosity, and quiet strength. Family was her most
passionate focus, but she also loved to travel and to devote her time to serving her church and
community. Her beautiful smile and compassionate heart will be deeply missed but forever
remembered.

Marilyn is survived by her sister Carol Shepherd (Ralph); her five children: Diane Rose, James
Turner (Jennifer), Paul Turner, Laura Brady, and Linda Lotspeich (Philip); her nine
grandchildren: Chris Rose, Melissa Phillips (Chisem), David Turner (Marianna), Michael Turner,
Amy Turner, Austin Lotspeich, Abigail Lotspeich, James Brady and Jackson Brady; and one
great-grandchild: Emma Rose Phillips. She is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Lydia
Meise, her brother Henry Meise, Jr., and her husband Ernest Turner.

A celebration of life service will take place on January 20th at 11:00 am at John Wesley
Methodist Church. Memorial contributions can be made to Northwest Assistance Ministry
(NAM), a local mission agency where Marilyn volunteered for many years.
