Marilyn passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family, February 4th, 2025. Marilyn was born November 2, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio - the youngest of 2 children of Joseph and Catherine Holtvogt.  She graduated from Our Mother of Mercy High School in Cincinnati in 1952.  In 1958 she married the love of her life, William J. Hunter of Covington, Kentucky at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Marilyn and Bill lived in Chicago, Cincinnati, Louisville, Boston, and New York, before settling in Houston in 1973 with their 3 boys - Craig, Keith, and Todd.  While raising her 3 boys, Marilyn was a dedicated member of St. Edward Catholic Church, volunteering whenever the opportunity presented itself.

Marilyn and Bill were avid travelers, taking their 3 boys all over world including, Rome, Paris, Australia, the Caribbean, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, just to name a few.  When their boys were grown, Marilyn and Bill continued their globetrotting, traveling to all seven continents, including some African safaris, a trip to the Holy Land, and countless cruises. Marilyn enjoyed her favorite sport, baseball, as she and Bill attended season after season cheering on the Houston Astros.

Marilyn also enjoyed entertaining, decorating, arts and crafts, ceramics and floral arranging.  Marilyn spent much of her free time doing charitable works.  She delivered meals for Meals on Wheels for 30 years. Marilyn also volunteered with the Blue Bird Circle charitable organization for 15 years.  She was also a strong pro-life advocate, traveling to the March for Life in Washington DC in the snow with Bill and their son and grandchildren.  Marilyn loved socializing – and one of her absolute favorite weekly activities included attending Sunday Mass, followed by breakfast with Bill and their closest friends.

Marilyn enjoyed watching her 8 grandchildren grow up, celebrating all the big moments including birthdays, baptisms, first communions, weddings, attending many baseball, tennis, basketball, and soccer games, and even traveling to Carnegie Hall to see her granddaughter's high school choir. Marilyn is survived by Bill, her devoted husband of 66 years, her three sons Craig (Karla), Keith (Tricia), Todd (Denise), 8 grandchildren including Brett (Amanda), Brad, Mitchell, Nathan (Madison), Kevin, and 11 great-grandchildren.
