Marie Frances (Kukla) Wylie, a strong, caring, spirited, wife, mother, friend and sister, went to be with her Savior in heaven August 25, 2020. She was 78. Marie was born November 3, 1941, in Clio, Michigan, where she was raised with siblings Albert, Carl, and Virginia, the
children of proud Polish farmers Joseph and Genevieve Kukla.  Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Laurence Wylie, also of Clio, Michigan, whom she married immediately after graduating valedictorian of her high school, where Marie excelled as a straight-A student, 4H member, Drum Majorette, Class Secretary and her senior year Prom Queen.  For the next 24 years, Marie served our country and her family as an Air Force wife, moving frequently, raising children Angie, Steve, and Melanie, managing house and home, and starting a career of her own. A career in which Marie advanced to become Administrator of a large law firm in Houston.  Sewing was an early love and skill of Marie's, and for years her three children wore clothing from casual to formal that she had handcrafted. When Don opened a flight business in 2003, her own children now adults beyond wearing Mom's creations, Marie made tiny flight suits for their three grandkids.  Musical talent did not escape Marie who played accordion true to her Polish heritage, and later played organ, cornet, and piano.  From Michigan to California, Florida to Germany, and even down to Texas, Marie created beautiful homes - even early in their marriage on meager budgets - which displayed her class, style, and aesthetic eye. Her eye for beauty was evident daily in how she prepared and presented herself, even as Alzheimer's began it's attack, and she was known as one of the most proper and well dressed residents in Memory Care.  While the sudden loss of a spouse later in life can leave many alone and reclusive, Marie bounced back, starting anew and eventually meeting a dear friend, Jack, whom she built a new house next door to and lived a decade sharing life and extensive world travels together until his passing.  Marie's faith was strong, and her studious devotion evident in the neat and thorough Bible study notes she left behind, to go be with the God whose very words she studied.  Marie is survived by her children Angie Wylie, Stephen Wylie and his wife Linda, and Melanie Wylie; six grandchildren Michael, Kelsey, Alexa, Taylor, Evan, Joy and her husband Garrett
Kenefake, and great-grandchild Rett Kenefake.
